Intro to Silversmithing & Statement Ring Class

• Learn the basics principles of soldering and create a personalized statement ring. In this class you will learn how to use essential jewelry making tools, how to handle a torch, the uses of different kinds of fluxes and solders, how to bezel set a stone, and how to polish and finish your jewelry. You will also receive a comprehensive guide that covers how to set up an at home studio on a budget and how to practice this craft at home safely

• The cost of the class is $180 ($80 deposit required) and no experience is needed to sign up. To register for the class go to this page & if the class is sold out contact Chayse to get added to the waitlist. 

Silversmithing & Ring Building for Lovers | Basic Silversmithing Workshop

• In the spirit of Valentines day, come dive into the craft of silversmithing with your lover, best friend, or someone close to you to learn the basics principles of soldering and create a personalized ring in the process. In this class you will learn how to use essential jewelry making tools, how to handle a torch, how to stamp and/or texture metal and how to polish your sterling silver ring to be durable and long lasting. Towards the end of the workshop we will celebrate your successes with wine and/or tea.

Build a Pendant – Stepping Stone to Intermediate Silversmithing 

• In this class, students will review the principles of soldering through building a pendant. In this one-day workshop, students will learn how to solder a bezel, add decorative wire designs through sweat soldering, how to pierce metal and add a bail to the pendant. Students will also have the opportunity to watch a live demonstration of how to sweat solder a landscape design of a local San Juan Mountain Range. Prerequisites: Understand the basic principles of soldering, how to bezel set a cabochon, and preferably have taken a silversmithing class before.
• The cost of this class is $200, with an $80 deposit required. The class will take place at the Gem & Mineral Club in Durango, CO from 10AM-5PM.
